Guy Massi

Guy Massi

SSC, SCS, CES, CFSC, CTBS, CSSN (Director of Operations, Athletic & Curricular Development)

Guy Massi is a former competitive athlete, and as a father, brought up a household of competitive athletic boys of his own. Nearly thirty years have passed since receiving the very first certification that jump-started his journey of individual performance coaching for athletes and clients as a part-time means to supplement his income. Now, he is now a locally, nationally, and internationally recognized speaker, trainer, and coach to elite athletes and workforce clients, as well as upper-tier corporate, military, and emergency personnel.  In his more than three decades in the field, he has been developing athletes and fitness clients of all ages and levels under his training methodology, which set the trajectory for his becoming a highly respected coach, subject material expert, and industry resource to professional athletes and teams from all sports, local, collegiate and national athletes, as well as institutions and organizations including yet not limited to; World Recording Holding Sprinter Dedrick Clark, NFL player agent Kevin Fitzpatrick, the Hong Kong National Ice Hockey Team & Academy program director, German Olympic Field Hockey Team, Adler-Manheim German Professional Ice Hockey Team, Bundesliga Academy & Soccer Team, German Olympic Lifting Coaches, Tsunami Barbell Flexible Barbells, Boditrak & Swing Balance Velocity/Force/Balance technologies, and many others. More than merely understanding the physiological requirements associated with developing performance in athletes and clients, he is truly a master of recognizing and nurturing the emotional component. Suffering the loss of both of his parents by the time he was eighteen, Coach Massi has turned various challenges into victories and has learned the art of perseverance. Guy said, “Due to seemingly insurmountable challenges in my teenage years, I once ballooned to over 300 pounds – and it was all emotional!  I had two options; 1) either succumb to defeat or 2) overcome and serve as an example to others. – I chose option 2”.
Author & Facilitator

He is the author and keynote facilitator of the HyperNova Athletic Development & Functional Fitness System© bearing inclusive curricula for speed, strength, power, agility, balance, mobility, functional fitness, explosiveness, proprioception, and energy system training. Guy also received a publishing contract to write the “off-topic” book called, “We Are gods!” (Small “g” of course) This book is essentially a handbook for gaining critical insights of ourselves and others as it pertains to the first steps in unlocking sustainable personal and professional change. (He is currently and steadily fulfilling his obligation to his second and third book engagements, while maintain focus on M2, its systems and methodology.)  Guy is a pioneer in maximizing fitness and athletic development within systematic and programmatic time constraints (and budgets) thru the use of signature progressions and protocols.  He is a persistent learner and routinely works with doctors and physical therapists in rehabilitating athletes and clients, and specializes in medically indicated and supervised Return-to-Play programs, as well as proactive mitigation programs for injury resistance. He is hungry for knowledge (and the application thereof), and maintains industry relevance thru continuing education and writing for peer review. Coach Massi states, “I’ve learned from my own on-the-job practice (a.k.a. mistakes) and failed experiments and thusly remain in a constant state of learning and thriving for insights and truth, whether within or outside of the textbook. I believe in experience and application and have found what foundationally works for building superior athletes and clients. My colleagues and myself, meet people where they currently stand, and quickly, safely, and efficiently push the envelope in challenging them above and beyond what they ever thought they might accomplish. One thing that is constant, however; nothing substitutes for persistent, diligent effort – also known as HARD WORK!  Really, at the end of the day, we are developing future moms, dads, husbands, wives, and professionals and/or reinforcing one’s current responsibilities and obligations. The performance development aspect is second nature at this point, while the greatest challenge can be the primary goal of; actively lending to the physical and emotional development of contributory members of society who love and excel in sport, work, and life.”
